Nice location, can walk to Darling Harbour and Circular Key, did not take the subway although I understand it is very close. Many restaurants and shopping nearby, hotel was clean and reception check me in and out very efficiently. Not the largest room but I was only there to sleep and perhaps rest between excursions. Sydney is such a wonderful town, every time I walk to a habour I found another set of restaurants and bars to explore. I found the location to be very central and safe, and also close are several 7 11's for small items. Would definately stay here again.

We spent 2 nights here after finding a deal on the web for under $110 per night. This is a good price for a fairly central hotel in Sydney! Of course, it was the basic double room, so it was fairly no frills, and the rooms are very small. There are no views to speak of either. If you want loads of room, or lovely views in Sydney, like London, you pay a lot more. Our room was very comfortable, nicely furnished in a modern style, and very quiet. The bathroom was very clean, and the whole hotel very nicely decorated. The Metro on Pitt is situated only 2 blocks down (toward the central railway station) from the Pitt St. mall. The bar/restaurant on the ground floor has a good and inexpensive (again, for Sydney) menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I would stay here again, as it was clean, quiet, attractive, inexpensive and well located.

I stayed at another one of their properties for a wedding earlier in the year. So I gave this one a crack as it had breakfast in the rate and was a great price for Pitt St right in the heart of Sydney and walking distance from my conference.

On the good side.

Checked in at 1am and it was really easy, room was good for the price and the quality of the bed and pillows was great they seemed new and I loved the free bottled water. Bathroom was clean and functional, check out was easy, the staff were friendly and there was an internet connector (forgot my cable).

On the not so goodside.

The slow slow lift and breakfast room which didnt really fit in context of the hotel although the breakfast was fine.

How ever this was more than made up for by the location.
You could walk any where in down town Sydney from here. Every taxi driver can find it, there is rail, mono rail and bus outside the door.

So for its price and its location i liked it and would stay again.

Stayed at the Metro for 5 nights. Previous reviews are pretty accurate of the experience you would encounter at this hotel. This is a boutique hotel. By US standards, the rooms are about half the size of a typical 3 star US hotel . I had a room with a queen bed, office desk and two seat sofa. Luggage space is very limited, I stored my bags on the sofa. The bathrooms were nice and clean as was the shower stall. The rooms and the bathroom could do with a little more lighting. The rooms are well appointed, albeit there was some patchwork on some of the walls, no worries....The mini fridge in the room came in handy to store items. Coffee and tea are complimentary and plentiful.

I did not use the hotel restaurant as there are many to chose from outside the hotel but it certainly looked nice. Internet.. Metro charges $5 for half an hour, exit the hotel on the left, walk a block and there is an internet cafe across the street, charging $1 per hr with print capabilities.

All in all, this is great little hotel, very convenient to major attractions and good value for the money.
