Hotel is located at the top end of Queens road and close the Queen Victoria markets which run on Sundays, we had a 2 bedroom apartment which was hotel style apartment so no kitchen just tea and coffee,fridge etc no cooking, no laundry. Very basic and as we are a family of 5 we stayed around 5 nights and could of really used a hotel with self catering services. Hotel and rooms were tidy and clean.

Restaurant onsite with awesome breakfast well worth the money...

Family stayed here in AUG 07 (3A + 2C) in a two bedroom room. Enough space to spread out and very clean. Location was a big plus with trams located one block away. there was a large group booking at the hotel at the same time but no significant noise or waitimes. Staff on desk were very pleasant and helpful. Room also has microwave and sink. only slight issue was that bathroom was beging to age but water was hot and plenty as all five had showers and no loss in pressure etc. Would recommend for a family to base in MELB. Save money and spend on shopping.

We stayed at the Ibis Melbourne for a couple of nights at the end of April and found it was good value for money. We booked thro the hotel website and got some pretty good rates. We wanted to check in early and it was hasslefree and also got an hour's extension at the end. Room was clean, bathroom was comfortable and had all the basic necessities. View was nothing to shout about but we had no hassles on the non-smoking room bit too. We also got the extra pillows we wanted with no trouble.
Hotel was easy to walkfrom to the shuttle service to the Avalon airport and also the free city circle trams. And a stone's throw from the Market so that was great. Wont sya the food scene was great in the vicinity esp over the weekend but tolerable. good service at the front desk too. Recommend if u r on a budget in Melbourne and has all the good comforts

I booked one night with this hotel on wotif.com and the other directly with them. Pleasant clean place to stay, not right in the heart of CBD but very close. The first night they upgraded my room, but than switched it the next day, (not happy with that I must say) but the staff at the front desk were always helpful and pleasant.

The are 2 internet kiosks there, great for planning your next stop on your Australia adventure. Also two pay phones, when you don't want to rack up your mobile charges.

Stay as a woman by myself and felt perfectly comfortable.

Right down the block from Victoria Market, a definite plus, reminiscent of Bangkok's weekend market, except smaller.
