I booked the hotel after reading reviews here in tripadvisor. I found I wasn't disappointed. The hotel was great value for money, we stayed at a peak time over new years and into new year. The hotel was very clean and the maid was in every day. We found even the maid went above and beyond, we left wet swimming clothing hanging in the bathroom from the baths and when we came back to our room it had been dried for us and left on our bed :) All the hotel staff were very efficient and friendly.

The breakfast isn't great at the hotel, it's €8 per person, I would recommend going to any of the cafes along the street.

For dinner we always ate in one of the restaurants along the hotels street (raday utca.) Gotti restaurant, time cafe, jaffa cafe all really nice and inexpensive. Service was always fantastic.

The hotel is right next to a subway stop which made it really easy to get around the city and home again, so there's no need for taxis.

They have a baggage room for you luggage if you have a late flight on the day you checkout, which is locked after you leave your luggage in.

I would recommend the hotel, it was clean, not noisy as the rooms are soundproofed, and the service provided was great. The location is fantastic too.

“Clean, Convenient, Reasonable--a Good Value”

1. The location was good. It was right on Raday, so there were a lot of restaurants right down the street. The metro station was only a 2-3-minute walk. The main market was about 5 minutes away (the southern end of Vaci).
2. Just like the Ibis hotels all over Europe, it was modern, clean, functional and simple. The building was rather new.
3. My room was of average size, was simply furnished, but clean and very comfortable. Bright upbeat furnishings. Air-con was great. The bathroom was of average size, but was very clean and functional. The shower had good water pressure and nice shower heads. The TV had BBC. However, unlike the Ibises in Krakow and Vienna, which had firm beds, the bed here was soft and old, and I could actually feel the springs. This was the main minus to the place. No fridge either.
4. Staffers were efficient, friendly and spoke English.
5. I got an excellent internet-rate on their website.

This was a great little hotel for the money. It certainly isn't luxurious, and in fact I would probably call it "generic." However, I wasn't in Budapest to stay in a 5-star hotel. I was looking for a clean hotel with easy access to seeing the rest of the city. This place totally fit the bill. It's on a cute street with tons of shops and restaurants. It's a 3 minute walk to the Budapest subway which will get you entirely around town.

Best of all (I went during Europe's heatwave-- it was 107 degrees in Hungary) the Ibis Hotel has air conditioning, a rarity in these parts.

If you're a budget traveler aiming to see Budapest, this place is perfect.

“Great Location”

Stayed here for a long weekend and it was the location that made it. the restaurants and bars nearby were excellent and much better than the pricier main shopping areas of town. The main city center area is 2 metro stops away and the metro is a 3 minute walk away though you could walk it in 20 mins.

the room was small and clean however my main gripe is that the thermometer on the air con was not working-it only blew out hot air and there was also no air coming from the vent in the bathroom so we had to leave the window open ajar.

the tv channels also packed it in for a few hours one day when we got back from sight seeing. we chose not to complain about any of the above.

the staff were mostly very pleasant. one chap was there nearly all the time and was very helpful. i wouldnt recommend the breakfast at all though. €8 will get you manky eggs and staleish rolls and cheap cold cuts. much better off just having breakfast out-cheaper and better quality.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. They changed our towels, but did not vacuum. The room was small but manageable (typical for a European hotel room). The breakfast was good: included hot eggs, a variety of breads and cold cuts, hot and cold beverages (including a cappucino machine).

The hotel is about a one block walk from the Kalvin ter metro station (blue line). It's a relatively easy walk to many of the city center sites with the Parliament the furthest (about a mile).

There is no more free internet (as was reported by a previous traveller). The hotel is on Raday utca (street) which is known for its restaurants. But you can walk about three blocks to the Grand Market and have inexpensive counter meals.

Our biggest complaint was that the lobby was always full of cigarette
smoke (which is pretty typical for much of Europe).
