Had a great stay at the Danubias Astoria this summer.
The location has to be one of the most central in Budapest - right in the heart of Pest. Almost all the main sights were within walking distance and only needed to make 1 or 2 metro journeys in the few days we were there.
I was hesitant about booking this hotel because of its location on one of the main junctions in the city. However the (economy) room was located on a quiet side street and there was very little noise at all, even with the window open. It seems a little strange, but I think the economy rooms are on this quiet side street - perhaps ask to stay on this wing.
The economy room was still very comfortably furnished and quite adequately sized, if not massive. Definitely a 4* standard, with minibar, satellite TV, nice bathroom etc.
Downstairs the hotel is very opulent, decorated in turn-of-the-century style with chandeliers, ornate furniture etc. No lounge but small lounge area in reception. This area seemed to be cleaned regularly.
The buffet breakfast in the morning, although possibly not worth 14 euros if paying separately, was more than enough, if not the most lavish I have seen, with eggs, croissants and rolls, some fruit etc.
One small negative point - although very ornately decorated, the coffee shop next door to the restaurant, does not live up to its reputation. The coffee was good, but the cake selection - for supposefly one of the best coffee-houses in the city, was very disappointing, with only a limited selection and nothing out of the ordinary.
The reception staff spoke English well and were generally friendly and helpful e.g. willing to phone my tour company in Budapest to book a trip.
Overall, a very nice, grand, and reasonably priced hotel right in the centre of the city.
