If you go to Tallinn, do not miss a trip to the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral up on Toompea Hill. It's a wonderful site from the outside, but the inside will take your breath away. The exquisite gold decoration and icons, the smell of burning incense, the chanting of the cantors ... it's an amazingly spiritual experience even if you aren't religious.
