As other people have said this hotel is quite reasonable for D.C. The location is quite nice-- A short 2 block walk to the metro in a residential area. There's a market next to the metro stop and a couple of nice restaurants across the street. The room was pretty much what you would expect for this class of hotel...nothing fancy but serviceable. We stayed in three different hotels on this trip and this hotel had the most comfortable beds/bedding. The computers in the lobby were nice to have (free, unlike the Hyatt we stayed in later in the week.). They were often occupied however. The main downside to the hotel was the staff at the desk. For one thing, there were too few of them, especially at busy times such as late afternoon/evening when people are checking in. Moreover, they were just not very good. Simple requests like "Can I have another blanket?" were answered with the "I'll see what I can do" that lets you know that nothing will be done. And nothing was done.

“Small room, but very good location”

We stayed in the Days Inn for 5 days in March. We chose it primarily because of its location - close to the DC Metro.
The room was quite small, and we only had a view of the alley. But the service was pretty good, and the location was very convenient.
There are several restaurants nearby, and a CVS across a couple of blocks away.
I would recommend it primarily because of the very cheap prices, and very good location.

“Nice Room - Great Location”

Days Inn Connecticut Avenue

I'd be giving this a rating of 3.5 if I could - three seems a bit low. Since I booked 5 days at this hotel for my family, I was terrified by all the bad reviews I read about this hotel. Maybe that helped lower my expectations... I duno. Anyhow, the room itself was comfy and very clean. The sheets were real nice and felt like good quality 300 thread count sheets. As some reviewers noted, the pillows were kind of lumpy, but they were clean and the bed itself was comfy. Although the bathroom was clean, the water pressure from the shower was a bit low. The maid also kept replacing all towels with clean ones even if I kept my towels hung on the shower hook. Occasionally, our neighbors did get a bit loud but the noise tapered off by 10:30 so we weren't kept up all night.

But enough about the room... there's so much to see and do in DC, we literally left the room early in the morning and didn't return until late into the evening. The hotel is in a pretty safe location. Although the immediate area has a few decent restaurants, I recommend taking the Red Line (which is about 200 meters from the hotel) to either Cleveland Park (1 stop) or Woodley Park/Zoo (2 stops) for much better eats. Both those stops are in the direction of Downtown DC which is literally 15 minutes away by metro. I can't say enough about this place's location.

Pros: Price, Location

Cons: Walls are thin so noisy neighbors must be dealt with

The lobby here is pretty nonexistent, although it does have two computers to check email. My room was clean, but the bathroom could use some updating. My biggest complaint was the location of my room. It was right next to a stairwell and I heard every person who came and left the hotel well into the night. I also had some left overs from a great restaurant that I went to and asked the front desk clerk for some silverware. He informed me that there wasn't ANY in the ENTIRE hotel, but I was free to go to the restaurant next door and ask to borrow some of theirs. The bed was big and comfy, but had strange sofa/decorative size pillows, and it was hard to figure out what to do with them. However, the location was pretty decent, close to the Metro and a good number of restaurants. Certainly a decent choice for the budget minded.

I checked in at 4pm on a Friday and went up to my room. I looked around and saw DUST everywhere. The room smelled like some kind of fumigant powder. The wires on the TV were hanging. Half the lights worked. The bed looked like something was living in it. I did not take my coat off. I used my cel to call around for another hotel room. I made a reservation and left. By the time I got downstairs, it was twenty minutes later. The clerk insisted on charging me for the full day. I paid it because I was glad to be allowed out of there...
