This was our second stay at the Paradise Pier hotel. Our first stay was for one night just to sleep so we thought we would try it out again for a longer period of time. This stay was for 3 nights and we were not disappointed. Overall the hotel is very clean and the staff seemed friendly. My two boys, ages 3 and 6, loved the pool area. My 3 year old spent all of his time in the 1 foot deep toddler pool area and loved every minute of it while my 6 year old spent all of his time on the water slide and loved every minute of that! The pool at the Disneyland hotel is bigger and has a disney theme, but if you have kids that aren't great swimmers yet, the one at the Paradise Pier is better suited. It also seemed like there were more life guards on duty, which was definitely a plus. When you stay at one of the Disney hotels you can use any of the pools at the different Disney hotels.

The rooms are very comfortable and we had a wonderful view of California Adventure. We could even see the fireworks from our room which is great for tired kids who can't stay awake long enough to see them in the park! We were also able to see the Electrical Parade in California Adventure. We stayed on the 12th floor and used the glass elevator every chance we could get because the other reviews are right in saying how slow the elevators are. The glass elevator however is only available to go up which is why it is faster. The only floors it will take you down from are 2 and 3.

If you want more of a Disney atmosphere however, I would recommend the original Disneyland hotel over the Paradise Pier. There wasn't much of a Disney feel to this hotel other than the goofy statue in the lobby. We have stayed in both hotels and have enjoyed both. It was very easy to walk to the park from the hotel, especially if you went through the Grand Californian. Also, as a hotel guest we were able to use the seperate entrance into California Adventure from the Grand Californian. We were also able to get into Disneyland an hour early on designated days as a bonus for staying at one of the Disney hotels.

So far, we have had good experiences at both the Paradise Pier and Disneyland hotels. On our next trip we are going to try the Grand Californian!

Arrived at the hotel around 1:00 pm after a long flight from Australia, and were happy to find that our room was ready no lines for check in, staff were great.
We had a room on the 13th floor overlooking California Adventure park which was fantastic. The room had 2 queen beds and a fold our sofa bed which was great as we had our two boy with us aged 13 and 16 years.
We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant, as we found a fantastic place just down the road called Coco's, great food and very well priced. We did however eat and drink from the bar/cafe at the hotel which I found was well priced and had a nice selection of slices and cakes.
The shop in the hotel lobby was well equipped with everyday items you my require and a good range of gifts.
The walk to Disneyland was short, if you walk to California Grand and cut through there, only people staying at the Disney Hotels can use this entrance, and there was never any lines so no waiting (you do enough waiting in Disneyland) when you come through this entrance you come out in California Adventure Park.
The only problem we found with this hotel is that they don't have a laundry on site, you have to walk over to the Disney Hotel to do your washing, we stayed 8 days and there was 4 of us, so we had to wash a few times, they really need to get a laundry on site.
Our family had a lovely stay, it was very clean and the staff were great, lifts were a bit slow in the morning, but all you have to do is press the up and down button and it stops at your floor every time, believe me get in the lift when it stops at your floor even if you don't want to go up because other wise you will wait a long long time (just enjoy the ride).
We would stay here again, yes the California Grand is more luxurious, but why pay double the price when you don't spend that much time in your room........Hello Your in Disneyland !!!!
Enjoy the Magic of Disneyland

My wife and I just returned from a 4 night stay at the Paradise Pier Hotel for a wonderful Disneyland vacation. We booked through Getawaytoday.com. This was our first stay at a Disney hotel, and overall I would say we enjoyed it. The Hotel staff was fantastic and very friendly, giving us both buttons for our 10th wedding anniversary, as well as a 1st visit button for myself despite this being my 2nd visit. The hotel was easy to find from I-5 and parking was a breeze. We had no trouble with the elevators as others seemed to have. The Room was absolutely fine, no issues at all.Very nice standard room. (Well, a microwave would've been nice but we brought our own.) We requested and got a king size bed, which was a little firmer than I like, but it was fine. It is my opinion that the only hotel closer to the parks would be the Grand Californian, and the rates there are out of the question for us. Paradise Pier is almost as close as the Disneyland Hotel and the difference in distance is not significant enough to justify the higher rate for DH. in my opinion. The proximity to the parks was awesome as was the access to the Monorail and the early entry ability. We were very happy about that aspect. Having said that, the room itself was great, I have no complaints. BUT despite all of that it was not worth $235.00 per night . I would say the room was comparable to a Holiday Inn or Radisson where you would pay $75-$85 per night. I knew going in that I was paying more for a hotel on resort property, but I wanted my wife and I to have the experience one time. I am glad we stayed at the Paradise Pier Hotel, but we won't be staying there for our next visit. And the only reason is the price. Again, $235 per night (and it wasn't peak season) is far too much to pay for a room of merely above average quality.

What a wonderful, magical place.
Everything and everybody was great. Our room was large, comfortable and clean. The staff so friendly and helpful. Being that my wife and I are getting awfully close to 50 and having no children with us, didn't expect to be treated so well, but we were treated like royalty. We couldn't help going about with a smile all the time. Room service was great.
The short walk to the parks didn't bother us in the least.

“Overall Nice Stay”

Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel

Stayed May 13-17th, room 808, with a view of Disney California Adventure Park. Nice staff, helped me print boarding passes at guest services which was a BIG help. Could hear lots of road noise and on a Grad night when the park was open all night could hear teens screaming on the rides - luckily we brought ear plugs. Could hear the neighbors too one night-their kids were jumping on the beds the beds hit our wall and it was obnoxious. Luckily, they quieted down before we went to bed. The pool was small compared to the Disneyland Hotel, but my daughter liked it just fine and liked the big slide too. We used the Disneyland Hotel pool too with the permission of the hotel staff. We had no problems with the elevators at all. We used the glass elevator a lot, that may have helped. The walk to the park was just fine through the Grand Cali hotel. We used the Disneyland Express bus to LAX and that was a pain, we had to load at Paradise Pier on one bus and then get off and reload on a new bus at the Disneyland Hotel to make the trip to LAX - and you had to take care of your luggage yourself-twice. Overall, a nice stay - last year we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and this hotel was much better in terms of staff friendiness. We had turn down service each night which was a nice surprise. In our first night we came back to Mickey Mouse rice krispy treats in our room. My daughter LOVED that. We would stay here again.
