“Nice Hotel, Friendly Staff, & Convenient Location”

Anabella Hotel

Jun 16, 2008

Our family with three boys stayed at the Anabella 4-14 Jun in their Concierge Suite and had a terrific stay. Arrived around 11 AM after traveling all night and they had our room ready by 12:30. Room was nice, clean, and the beds were soooo comfortable. As mentioned by previous guests, the shower heads were a little low. I'm 6'1" and didn't have any issues though. We had a corner room on the second floor and never had any noise issues or complaints. The pool was beautiful and we all enjoyed it with the high temps we had. Tangerine grill was good but the continental breakfast could offer a little more variety. It would be nice if they would provide a microwave in the rooms, seems kind of strange for a hotel not to have a microwave now a days. We did have an issue with the safe and phone but maintenance was quick to get it resolved and the Concierge personnel always followed up to ensure we were satisfied. As for the walk, not bad at all. We found there is a gate just down the road across from the convention center that takes you right into the Timon parking lot where you can catch the tram to the front gate. (Unfortunately we found this on our second to last day.) We would definitely stay here again as the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Thank you very much for taking to the time to review us on trip advisor. We really appreciate it. We were very happy to hear that you and your family had a great time during your summer vacation. It is really great to have that second opening to Disneyland right across the street from the convention center. It's too bad you were not aware about it on your first day. If you ever need anything at all from booking a new reservation with us or some help with the Anaheim Resort area, please do not hesitate to contact us at (714) 905-1050 Ext. 477 and our Concierge would be happy to assist you!

“Fantastic Getaway at a Great Price”

Anabella Hotel

4 of 5 stars
Santa Barbara, CA
Jun 16, 2008

My wife and I wanted to get away for a few days and just go somewhere and have fun, while having a relaxing place to stay in the evenings to unwind.

I was browsing through Expedia when my spouse mentioned that she wanted to visit Disneyland, and came across the Anabella Hotel at an amazing price.

All other decent places (3 star and above) were going for well over $200. We booked a concierge level room at the Anabella for $129/night - which included a King sized bed, an additional full-size bed (in a seperated area of the room), as well as a hideaway couch.

The room was nicely stocked and had a flat-screen television. They even had two complimentary waters waiting for us.

We had one problem on the first night with the air conditioning. I called the front desk and within about 5 minutes a repair man was working on it. On top of that, the front desk called to make sure that everything had been fixed to our liking.

The staff was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make sure that we were taken care of. One night we came back from the park fairly late with the intention of opening a bottle of wine. I had forgotten to bring a bottle opener, so I stopped by the concierge desk to see if they had one available. She had only one, so she walked with us to our room and opened our bottle for us!!

We added one night to our stay, and had to move, due to them being so busy. The second room that we stayed in, while still concierge level accomodations were slightly less "nice" than our first, but everything was still very quiet, clean, and pleasant.

All in all, I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Anaheim. I'm sold.

    • Disliked — In the second room that we had, the mattress was a bit old.

“Nice Place”

Anabella Hotel

We had two rooms booked with the hotel and were staying four nights, the rooms were very nice and clean and it was a very good location from Disneyland. We walked to Disneyland every day 15 minutes or so,and you can go though The Grand Californian Hotel
Might be a little much for small kids, but no problem for teens.Awesome beds.No shuttle is provided by the hotel, you can take the local shuttle for $3.00.The rooms were always cleaned and ready. The prices were very reasonable. We also purchased our tickets for Disneyland there. My only complaints were the fee for parking(every one charges it we were told)and the breakfast that comes with the package deal coffee or tea or milk small muffin or danish and fruit not that exciting really. There are two restaurants close by Tiffys and Cocos.I will stay there again

Thank you very much for staying with us. We appreciate your kind words. We would like to take this opportunity to inform you that we must charge for parking because we have had issues in the past with non-hotel guests trying to use our parking lot and this has caused paying hotel guests to not getting a parking slot, plus most of the hotels in the Anaheim Resort area do charge for parking due to this reason. Tiffy's and Coco's are both great restarants and we would recommend them anytime. Our restaurant, the Tangerine Grill and Patio is a very good place to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

“Avoid at all cost!!!”

Anabella Hotel

May 28, 2008

So I looked for a hotell close to Disney, I have stayed at other in Anahiem with good luck. I read some reviews and they all listed this hotel as good. I believe (after staying there) that these were employees or other hired by Anabella to write good reviews.

When I arrived there I was informed that I had to pay for parking (11.00 a night). I have never had to pay for parking at any hotel. They leave this out of the "low price" search results which is a (I believe) FRAUDULENT PRACTICE as other hotels do not charge for parking and the atual price at Anabella is "room + parking"

On to the room;
1. The room has these funky old wooden shutters that dont shut all the way so light comes in from the outside and makes it hard to sleep. As well the drapes are for show, they dont close.
2. The furniture is cheaper than the stuf at walmart and looks worse too.
3. The safe broke and we couldnt get our stuff out without calling for service.
4. The bathroom kept flooding and the guy they sent to fix it kept saying that we were spilling water on it. Until he came out a third time and saw water shooting up from the toilet bolts!
5. They moved us to a new room because of the flodding (at 1:30am after telling me they would move me at 10:30PM)
They would not give me any discount even after all the problems.
6. The new room had the same crappy wooden shutters and it smell like mold so bad that both my wife and I could not fall asleep.
I have pictures of the woodedn shutters and the bathroom leak attached to this review.

Thank you very much for commenting about our hotel, the Anabella. I would like to respond to a couple issues you had with us while staying here. I would like to inform you that we do not, nor would we ever hire people to write reviews about us. If you feel this is going on, please contact us immeditey or contact the web master of whatever website you are seeing this on! We apologize about the parking fee, however, most of the hotels in the Anaheim Resort area do charge for parking. Because of our close proximity to Disneyland, we have had a lot of people who want to park here who are not guests. So in order for us to attempt to reserve parking for only guests, we must charge for parking. I apolgize if you were not told this, however it does state that on OUR website. The safe's in the rooms do not usually break, they often display an "error" message when a guest enters in the wrong code they have initially selected more than 3 times as a fail safe, which can easily be reset by the Manager on Duty at the hotel. If you would like to speak about any other issues or if you can let us know which room number you had stayed in, we could address these issues accordingly. Thank you again for your comments.

“Loved it!”

Anabella Hotel

We had the most wonderful stay at the Anabella Hotel. We were in a Concierge Suite, bottom floor which had a big private patio and garden out front, a great breakfast which was served in the Tangerine Grill, and a beautiful walk to Disneyland down Disneyland Drive...took 13 minutes to get there. The trees were all lit up at night and the short cut through the Grand Californian Hotel was great. We were impressed with the room, it was exactly as shown in the pictures. We loved eating out on our patio, which was hedged in by bushes. The kids loved having their own bed at the end of the L shaped room. I was leary about our booking as the online reviews are mixed, but after having stayed there for 5 nights, we are not sure why anyone would give this hotel a bad review. I think it would have taken longer to wait for a shuttle then it did to walk. Our vacation was perfect, the pool was so clean and nice, surrounded by beautiful flowers, and the restaurant was great. We ordered room service or ate on the patio many times. We would go back and we would recommend this hotel. I think the Concierge suites are the way to go as they are updated and offer more amenities. We left every morning from the restaurant with a big complimentary coffee in hand and the staff was very friendly. Beautiful grounds and comfy rooms.
