Hotel is an attractive conversion of an existing property. The majority of rooms are “interior corridor” style and the front and back sections are linked with a section of exterior corridor units that have both a front and back window. Those rooms benefit from the air conditioning unit in a hallway which is quieter, and air does not blow directly on the sleeper.
The beds are extremely comfortable, and include a combination of both soft and firm pillows. The bathroom too is remodeled with granite and fluffy towels. My room was a king with an easy chair, but I had to look at two other rooms (doubles) before I found this arrangement. My room was very quiet, but those facing Katella might hear some traffic noise. The majority of the parking is in the basement, and in many respects this is more convenient than it sounds. There is only one elevator (glass enclosed) but I did not wait long at any time despite every room of the hotel being occupied.
The housekeeping is attentive, and the room was modern, clean, and well-maintained overall.
An expanded continental breakfast is offered every morning from 6:30 am to 9:30 am, and includes cold cereal, yogurt, eggs, bacon or sausage, country gravy, muffins, biscuits, bagels, bananas, coffee, juice, and warm sweet rolls. There were plenty of tables and chairs in the breakfast room.
The pool is on the medium-to-small size, and I did not have opportunity to use it. If you are seeking a lush pool area, this hotel is not for you, but it would be fine for a refreshing dip. There is also a whirlpool.
The hotel is a pleasant 15 minute walk to Disneyland’s front gates, and the Anaheim Conference Center is a 10 minute walk via Katella. At other hotels, you could be closer to one or the other, but this hotel splits the difference. The new Anaheim Garden Walk is adjacent, and this will have upscale shopping along with numerous chain restaurants (California Pizza Kitchen, Bubba Gump Shrimp, etc.) that are now open. There is plenty of dining of all types in walking distance.
The only problem I experienced was flaky wireless internet…it is very slow and I many websites just would not display, including my workplace’s email website. I reported the problem and they did something that helped a little, but overall it was frustrating and very inconvenient. There are two computers in the lobby that are available to guests. The front desk people are all very pleasant, caring, and accommodating, and that alone adds great value to this hotel.
The truly convenient location, free breakfast, exceedingly comfortable beds, newer heating/cooling units, decent TV with free HBO, and excellent customer service make this hotel worth considering.
The internet issue may be solved in the future, but it is a possible negative if you are depending on it.
