Came from Blancaneaux Lodge on a private plane... to the San Pedro Airport where we waited to be picked up for about an hour! And it was HOT!!! The airport is quite small so there wasn't much to do for an hour... Anna then shows up in a small golf cart which is NOT working appropriately! We are then transported around the island because Anna needed to run some "errands"- thought ok, maybe we get to see the island this way. Fine... These errands took forever! We were then transported to yet another cart because the one were picked up in did not work! Then we finally get to the boat. BUT we don't leave immediately, we must of waited ANOTHER hour for them to get it togther. Then guess what?! They had to run MORE errands while we were on the boat! I was ready to BLOW my top! I just put my headphones on and mentally went to another world to calm myself down. ALL I wanted to do was just lay down and relax AFTER all those darn errands we had to do!!!! Extremely frustrated once we got to the Resort. I think it with of been an amazing feeling if it all worked appropriately... "getting whisked away from the airport to a boat that then takes you to your isolated resort retreat" BUT NO!! Sounds like from the reviews that this is something that happens a lot more often since people are extremely pleased. But I did read a couple where Anna forces the clients to go with her to run errands! This is NOT acceptable! These things should be taken care of prior to picking up the customers.
Once you arrive, you do feel like you're in your own island since the resort seems to be the last resort along the shore.
You know who made my trip?! Pany!!! He is just AMAZING! Loved him... he is a national treasure here at Belize. He took us out to the ocean while he did his own expedition. Just three of us including Pany. He is a wealth of information, I could of sat with him for more hours just listening to him and his stories. You can tell he genuinely has an affinity for people!! I think the man is half man, half fish!! He brought back some conch shells where he then gave the meat inside to the kitchen to make some ceviche! It was TRULY the BEST ceviche I have EVER had! EVER!!! The bar is amazing since it sits on right on top of the water. I got to see a huge school of manta rays swim up to the restaurant! Like I read in another review, the food is not the best. Just the Ceviche was outstanding! But if you're looking to get away, you WILL be away from it all! The world will seem SO far away! The pictures are exactly a replica of what you will run into... Do know, there is no pool on the premises. The beach is your pool and you don't really need anything else. The size of the rooms are perfect. Quite large! They even have kitchens... I quite often reminisce of this amazing experience and wonder also how Mr. Pany is doing... Do know that if you're looking for 5 star to 4 star treatment, this is NOT the place for you. It's all about relaxing and enjoying the "true" nature. This place is NOT hoity toity, people are completely REAL!

We arrived on Friday and were met by the staff at the boat. They we very friendly and took excellent care of us through our entire stay. Talk about at your beckoned call! The food was FABULOUS! We went fishing, snorkeling, visited the Mayan ruins, island hopping, and golfed. The staff at Tranquility Bay Resort took care of all of the arrangements and made the payment very simple.
Mornings on the white sand beaches are unbelievable, I have always thought of myself as a mountain lover - but WOW was I wrong.
The staff make sure that everything is clean and neat on the beach and in our rooms. The cabananas are very comfortable with lots of space, and to my surprise an A/C if we wanted to use it. The beautiful ceramic tile made me want to do some remodeling at home.
I would definitely recommend Tranquility Bay Resort to anyone looking for a tropical vacation. I felt very safe, secure and spoiled!

A big thanks to all of the staff at Tranquility Bay Resort! Looking forward to seeing you January 2009!

I am crazy about tropical vacations and this place was postcard perfect. The minute we arrived at our resort we felt as if we were in a dream. The white sand beach is pristine and the various shades of turquoise and blue ocean is breath taking. The serenity of the beach is so relaxing. The sun is bright but the breezes make the temperature perfect! The staff is helpful and friendly yet not intrusive of your personal space. The food at the tackle box is excellent and the cabanas are very spacious and well kept. There are staff members on site who are very knowledgeable about their country and it's history. They are also able to arrange and take you on many of the tours Belize has to offer. Joe & David took us out fishing and snorkeling and to Caye Caulker for a day trip. Sergio makes an awesome "blondie", a drink he made up special for me. We pretty much felt our entire experience at Tranquility Bay was more than we could have asked for. We decided to make an annual trip to this island paradise.

I've been home only two days, and already I'm wanting to go back to Tranquility Bay! From the moment Al picked us up at the airport after our much-delayed flights, I knew we were in excellent hands. Everything was taken care of, and Al & staff went out of their way to make sure my mother was chauffered to her San Pedro condo (where she was staying with friends) and safe before we were taken via a lovely night boat ride under the stars to our cute little cabana at Tranquility Bay. The rooms were terrific! The food was terrific! The staff were terrific! The beds were terrific! The snorkeling was OK, but I have a feeling we didn't get to the right part of the reef to see the good stuff, as I didn't see what others have posted in their underwater photos -- didn't matter, as we loved the snorkeling just the same. The beach was beautiful, there were no biting bugs, and the rays and tarpon circling under the dock at night were spectacular! If it's peace and tranquility and nice people you're looking for, this is the place!

“Unbelizeable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

My husband and I were married on November 10, 2007. We had 45 guests attend the wedding, 35 who stayed at the resort. We were told that we were the biggest wedding party they had ever served!
We arrived on the 5th late at night due to plane delays, with 13 of our guests in tow, including our 18-month-old son. Pany "gimme three" and several others greeted us with smiles and laughs, escorting ALL of us the the local grocery store and waiting patiently until everyone got the food and drinks we wanted. Exhausted after 12 hours of travelling, we pulled up to the dock and practically collapsed on the floor. All of the employees immediately helped organize and deliver all of the luggage and groceries to our cabanas. With one foot on the dock, we all knew the long travel was well worth this paradise!
The week continued to prove to be amazing, with Sergio serving endless drinks, food, and friendly service. Al and Pete were at our beck and call, bending over backwards to arrange transportation when needed and to pick up our guests who arrived sporadically.
Our days were filled with either serenity or adventure, depending on what the guests wanted for the day. The doorstep snorkeling was incomparable, considering guests at other resorts had to take a day trip to get to our reef that took us 10 minutes to swim to! Sergio and the staff helped some of us catch our own conch and endless amounts of fish, then taught us how to de-shell and cook our own dinner in a fire pit!.
Our nights were filled with delicious food from the Tackle Box restaurant, drinks, dancing, and Fernando helping us fish into wee hours of the morning.
Since we had a wedding planner from outside the resort, we weren't sure what part TB would play in the ceremony. They had agreed to cater (with some of the BEST food we have ever tasted), but they also helped turn the island into one of the most beautiful wedding settings any of our guests have ever seen.
We were presented with a handmade wood carving displaying "Belize" and "Love", which Fernando had carved earlier that day especially for us!
ALL of our guests (even those who didn't stay there) agreed that it was the BEST vacation any of us have ever had. Tranquility Bay and their staff were kind, thoughtful, accommodating, and FUN! We are already planning our 5-year reunion vacation!
Thanks to Sergio, Fernando, Antony, Billy, Al, Pete, Pany, and the beautiful country of Belize for the most memorable time in our lives!
