I cannot use enough adjectives to describe this wonderful riad.
We stayed at Riad Ariha after staying 9 days with Moroccan friends, and it truly felt like we were still staying with friends. The owners Barbara and Bader could not have been more welcoming to me and my eight year old twins, encouraging them to splash in the plunge pool and make themselves at home everywhere. Amina and the rest of the staff were also terrific and incredible helpful in all ways. We booked a day trip into the country with the driver often used by the riad and had an wonderful day in the Atlas Mountains. The riad also helped arrange for a staff person to put henna on my girls, who were nervous to have it done on the street. I had a wonderful massage in my room and all their recommendations for sightseeing and meals were perfect. We also ate the most delicious meal we had in Marrakesh, truly fantastic, in the riad.
The fact that the riad is in a real neighborhood is a wonderful plus. We had no trouble finding our way back and forth (the streets that cars cannot travel are very well marked), taxis were cheap, and we often really enjoyed the walks. We experienced none of the trouble with young boys wanting money to show us the way that others have described. We actually felt like regulars in the neighborhood by the time we left--shopkeepers called greetings and street cats waited for our leftovers. The beauty of staying in a real neighborhood is that people do not hassle you at all. The riad itself is also beautifully restored and decorated.
I would recommend this property to anyone.
