“fantastic suite wish we were really there for a week”

We stayed here on our last two nights in asia and wished we were staying a whole week in this apartment overlooking bangkok. and even if they put us right beside the construction, it is still low so we could have a wonderful view and the noise did not bother us at all. we found the swimming pool on the 25 th floor very nice and relaxing after a hot day in sweaty bangkok. the bed is wonderfully soft and we needed a good rest after such busy travelling

Stayed in a 1 Bedroom suite after booking a "Wotif" Secret Deal. The rate of 3800 baht per night was considerably cheaper than available elsewhere.

The suite on the 6th floor overlooked construction of another hotel next door, but the double glazing cut out all noise. The TV in the comfortable living room, and another in the large SUPER-comfortable bedroom, had multiple International and movie channels. The lounge had DVD player and stereo, you can loan DVD movies free of charge from reception. A Dining table and 4 chairs is provided, and the kitchen has every necessary piece of equipment for cooking a feast.

The bathroom was large and luxurious, with a centralised rain-showerhead over the bath tub. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The suite is HUGE and it's quite a shock to stay at a "normal" hotel afterwards. The bed was probably the most comfortable I've ever slept in, and the climate control allowed me to set myself the perfect room temperature.

Breakfast on the second floor was fine, with egg's cooked to order, and a coffee machine dispensing a great cup of coffee. Cereal, fruits, juices and the usual offerings were there as well.

BTS Skytrain station Ratchadamri is a 5 minute stroll from the hotel. Staff here went out of their way repeatedly to ensure my comfort, and I can't commend them highly enough.

    • Liked — The spacious suites and close proximity to BTS Skytrain
    • Disliked — Having to check-out :-(

Stayed here for business in November 2007 and were treated like royalty. Excellent location and the staff were gracious and extremely helpful and friendly. An overall excellent experience.
The rooms were spacious and extremely comfortable.

Felt like a queen as I was greeted by the beautiful thai customs by the thai staff. They are all very professional, and the appartments are beautiful. Most of the appartments have the same layout, and they're beautiful. I had a massage on the second floor one night, and retired to my enormous, luxurious room to watch a dvd (that you borrow from the reception for free, and watch on the dvd player on the large screen in your room). Had a shower under the enormous rain shower head. Ordered room service (always very prompt), and sat back and RELAXED! This is the perfect place for pampering yourself. It's not right in the centre of town, but it's only a short walk. It is in a very upmarket area, and you feel very safe going out at night as a single woman on your own. Only downside - the staff don't speak fantastic english, and my food was always far too spicy, but in a way, you feel more like you're in an authentic thai hotel. If they'd all spoken with american accents, that would have spoilt the experience. The walls are thin too, unfortunately, and you do hear your neighbours, but although this usually bothers me, I was so happy and relaxed in the surroundings, it wasn't such a problem. I felt very safe here, and the staff are genuinely LOVELY! Not just typically 'thai polite', but you feel they really care. I had some lovely 'chats' with the reception staff. Genuinely happy folk! I actually found myself missing them when I left! If I come back to Bangkok I will stay here (perfect for a romantic stay - whether that be romantic on your own, or in a couple). Good mariott standards with genuine thai authenticity. I really liked this place.

“Good but not 5-star”

Mayfair, Bangkok - Marriott Executive Apartments

We were a family of 5 adults and 3 toddlers, so a 3-room service apartment was exactly what we needed for a short 4 day-3 night trip to Bangkok. The location of the hotel was pretty convenient except that Soi Langsuan is a 1-way street which tended to be a nightmare during rush hour traffic in Bangkok. Otherwise there are 2 sky train stations located within 10 minutes of the hotel. Fine if you are without children but was a pretty grueling walk in the heat with young children.

There wasn't much of a reception vs. the grand receptions you see in the other 5-star estabilshments like Conrad, Sukhothai etc but the flower arrangements in the lobby were a pleasant touch.

Now, the 3 room apartment which we got was ok but certainly not top notch. I still think they could have added a few nice touches to make the stay a little better. For example in the kitchen, housekeeping did not provide any dishwashing liquid or sponges nor was there a welcome basket which other 5 star service apartments provide which contain the basic necessities. But otherwise, there was a washer/dryer and dishwasher which is a welcome when there are young kids around.

The living room was surprisingly on the small side with more space allocated to a desk which was odd. Management should also consider uprgrading all the TVs to plasma considering the prices they charge per night.

The bedrooms were alright except that we found the aircons a little on the loud side. And the bathrooms did look a little dated!

The major plus were the staff that really did try their best to please and were very helpful in making all our restaurant reservations and arranging our transport. All the staff from the front desk to housekeeping were esprecially friendly with the children.

The pool was really quite stunning in evening and looks even better than in pictures, however more towels could be provided. Overall it was not a bad experience but perhaps not value for money and certainly not 5-star.
