“Great stay in club room”

Stayed here for 4 nights and loved it. Room 5703 - floor 57 with terrific views from floor to ceiling window in bedroom, and from living room.
Nice touches are:
- oil burner and incense with a different scent each day - lemongrass was fab.
-Mens and ladies toilet bags filled with goodies on arrival (matching the slippers and robes)
-lovely shower gels/body lotion in pots refilled daily
-gift and homemade cookies every night in room
-access to club floor lounge with drinks and tasty canapes each night
-spa was wonderful. I had free massage and it was beautifully done with great attention to detail
-Vertigo a great experience for a drink
-breakfast in lounge nice but on last day we needed to leave at 5.30 am and were offered a brekky box or room service. Had room service and it was perfect - even arrived with a toaster and basket of bread so we didn't have soggy toast!!!
-some good restaurants within walking distance we went to Metropolitan bar for snack(next door) Baan Kanita, and Blue Elephant. Also had hotel dinner cruise (Apsara) included in package
-taxis really cheap (not increased in 10 years) so £1 gets you to MBK, or Skytrain or Patpong.
-staff in club lounge fantastic
Rooms were fine but agree with comments already made that they are now a bit dated.Hotel is being renovated -doing 10 floors from June 2008 for 5 or 6 months. There was a bit of noise from some work being done somewhere near club lounge at times but no noise near our room.
All in all we had a fantastic stay and would go back.

“Best Hotel”

Banyan Tree Bangkok

This is one hotel that my husband and I are very happy to recommend (and in fact we do actively recommend this hotel) to friends and anyone else who wants to be pampered. We arrived after midnight and were tired, but the reception had our information ready so registration was short. The staff were without exception friendly, cheerful, professional and more important of all happy and willing to assist. We had a personal experience of one staff going out of her way to assist us, beyond the call of duty. The room where we stayed was very tastefully done and wonderfully scented, as if we were in a spa. It was very relaxing indeed. Our flight out of Bangkok was a very early morning one, but the staff kindly prepared a breakfast box for us to take to the airport.

If I could rate this hotel beyond excellent, I will.

“Affordable (Business Trip)”

Spent three nights in a twin bed Superior suite with another colleague.

Paying 18000THB, SGD900 for the room. Getting this special promotion price for corporate booking.

The room is well decorated (luxury to me), spacious. Nice bathroom, friendly stuff, nice ambient at the lobby. Everything is perfect. As every single cents count.

The bad:

1.Location wise is not too good. Will need 15 minutes to walk to
nearest BTS.

2. Spent most of the time in the conference room, but the internet connection is not that stable.

3. Too costly.

“Good - but not as good as expected”

Banyan Tree Bangkok

Mar 10, 2008

Spent 3 nights here at end of February before travelling onto one of the islands. Having seen the pubilicity for the various resorts in the Banyan Tree group we were expecting something special. Undoubtedly the public areas and facilities of the hotel were up to scratch but the accomodation felt a bit tired. We stayed in a Premier Suite on the 37th floor. The suite consisted of a lounge, bedroom and bathroom. There was a lot of wood throughout which, with the grey/green carpet, made the room feel a bit gloomy. There were two tvs but hardly up to date technology and the alarm clock was plastic - only small things but not what you expect from a 5 star. The bed was wide but seemed short - I'm 6 foot and my feet poked out the end. The bathroom had a good sized, separate shower but seemed to lack that 'luxury feeling'. During the day there was occasionally low level noise from building work - so maybe they are refurbishing some rooms, it felt to me like the one we stayed in (3701) needed updating. You should definately go for a drink at Vertigo and the night we ate at Saffron we had a good meal - don't be put off by the smart casual dress code in either, we were allowed in wearing jeans. Breakfast was the usual buffet fare. So, overall a reasonable place to stay but I think there may be better, more recently built, 5 star properties in Bangkok - my overall impression is that this felt more a business hotel than leisure.
