“Faboulous!”

Adelphi Suites Bangkok

5 of 5 stars
Oslo, Norway
Jun 12, 2008

Adelphi suites is a brand new apartment hotel complex.
Really nice rooms, great bathroom, clean and the hotel has a gym with a pool on top of the building.
The staff was very helpful, breakfast was simple but effiencent in the restaurant. Computers to check emails, easy access to shopping centers and close to the metrosystem.
Overall a excellent stay, really want to go back!

Adelphi Suites Bangkok

5 of 5 stars
Toronto, Ontario

The wonderful staff and the wonderful facilities of the Adelphi Suites Bangkok made our stay in one of Asia's most memorable cities a very comfortable one too.

Check-in:
When we checked into the hotel the lobby had a wonderful lemongrass-like scent (I would love to know what this was and have it for my home). We were served a delightful cold, sweetened japanese green-tea while we filled out our check-in paperwork.

Thai Boxing tickets:
The hotel arranged for ringside Muay Thai tickets at Lumpini Stadium within 10 minutes of our request. At 2000 baht per person they were the same price as those tickets at the stadium so there was no mark up on top of the ticket's regular price

Room:
Immaculate and spacious. We had a one-bedroom suite with a fully equipped kitchen; complimentary water every day, a fridge, washer&dryer, and 2 Samsung LCD TV's - one in the living room and one in the humongous bedroom. Plenty of closet space, both a rainfall-style shower and bathtub. Not all the fixtures are perfect - be sure to place a towel outside the shower door as we found the water tended to leak out past the bathroom door. Air conditioning control in both the living area and bedroom were useful and responsive. Wireless internet was not functional for most of our trip however as the signal was very weak. I would recommend asking for a cable to plug your laptop in. Internet is also avaiable in the main lobby.

Gym/Pool:
The 16th floor is home to a small outdoor pool with a view of the city as well as an excellent gym. All equipment is brand new from LifeFitness and included a treadmil, cross-trainer, bike, leg curl/extension, bench press, pullup bar/cable machines, and lat pulldown. Dumbbells only went up to 50 pounds but were some high quality rubberized dumbbells from Ivanko. Mondo flooring. Small but well appointed!

Complimentary Breakfast:
Good selection of fruits, breads and pastries and plenty of omelette chefs. Warm options available - typical western fare such as eggs, bacon and sausage but also an alternating warm asian option - rice porridge (congee) was excellent one day, and the next day's wide rice noodles were excellent. Good selection of juices (orange, grapefruit, pineapple amoung others) as well as tea/coffee service.

Staff:
Thai people in general are some of the kindest I will ever meet; and the staff at this hotel were memorable. They have to tolerate some of the western ex-pats and obvious sex tourists who are often rude towards the staff. Please try to be as respectful to staff as they are so cordial and helpful.

Location:
Second to none. Steps away from the Nana BTS Skytrain. 5 minutes away from Soi 5 - I highly recommend cheap and outstanding eats at the Took Lae Dee restaurant (US$2 for the best Pad Thai you'll ever have). And on the same street as Tom's Fashion tailor shop. I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit Bangkok.

“loved the adelphi”

Adelphi Suites Bangkok

Jun 5, 2008
2/2 found this review helpful

my husband and i stayed at the adelphi suites for 10 nights in may, we found this to be a lovely comfortable hotel, the staff were friendly and always welcoming. Our room was 503, it was very stylish, clean, and the maid was a little gem.......she was very efficient in her job.
The air conditioning was efficient but a little noisy, but the hotel itself was in a quiet location therefore there was no outside noise at night so you could get a decent nights sleep.
The pool on the 16th floor was small but sufficient as it was quiet when we stayed so there was no fighting for sunbeds, it was nice to sit up there in the evening there is a covered area with seating, and it was nice to enjoy the cool wind and watch the lightening storms, bangkok was extremely uncomfortably hot when we stayed, our pale western skins were finding it hard to acclimatize, so the pool was a godsend.
My husband took advantage of the very well equipped gym, fully airconditioned and with a television.
The breakfast was sufficient with plenty of choice, the only drawback is it would have looked nicer if the breakfast staff wore trousers instead of jeans and trainers it would have looked more professional, otherwise the staff were very polite and helpful. We will use the adelphi again when we come back to bangkok, as the location was perfect, only three minutes walk to the nana sky train. Travellers need to be aware of the constant badgering by taxi drivers, take note they will take you to unofficial ticket touts as they get a commission off tours, you need to be firm and say no you have already bought tickets for your trips, we were followed by taxi drivers insistant on getting a cut on the tours, in the end we had to be very firm to the point of being rude, which isnt in our natures to do so, so beware, the best way is to organise your tours through the hotel or the various excursion shops dotted around bangkok, as they come with a guide, the little shop round down the road (soi 8) round the corner, just before you come to nana sky train, they provided us with really good excursions and the guides spoke very good english. The best and cheapest way to get around bangkok is the sky train, beware of the tut tuts, a lot of them seem to be unable to know directions, we took one and the driver insisted on dropping us off outside the nana sky train, we had to give him directions, plus it didnt feel very safe and you get a mouthful of the city fumes, so all in all not a very healthy way to get around.

“Loved this Hotel”

Adelphi Suites Bangkok

California

From arrival to departure, the staff was excellent, always welcoming us with a smile. The hotel is great if you don't like big hotels like us. We stayed on the 12th Floor, on a corner 1 bedroom suite, with great views of the city.
The rooms are clean and very spacious. If we visit Bangkok any time soon, we’ll definitely stay here again. They have all you need if you are not looking for a chain hotel.
