“Great place to stay - good travel services!”

Rising Dragon Hotel

Oct 20, 2008

I loved this place, if only for it’s spacious rooms! Big beds, aircon, minibar, and a great bathroom too. They have a lot of nice people working there and they were very informative. The location is near markets and shopping too. They travel desk was so nice and helped us with Halong bay and sapa trip. It was very good!

“Fantastic Staff, Comfortable Rooms”

Rising Dragon Hotel

Oct 19, 2008

A friend and I stayed at The Rising Dragon for 3 weeks during September whilst in Hanoi on a Univeristy International Placement trip and I cannot say enough good things about my experience there. The staff were always very friendly and accomodating and seemed genuinely concerned that we were comfortable during our stay. The staff are the highlight of this hotel.

I stayed in a Deluxe Single Room and found it to be very clean and comfortable. The free wireless interenet service came in very handy. We arranged for an airport pick up and upon arrival our taxi was waiting for us and took us straight to the hotel no problems. The complimentary breakfast each morning was great for the days I didn't feel like going down to the local food market for my bowl of Pho (if going to Hanoi you must try it). The location of the hotel is fantastic, with Hoan Kiem Lake and the Water Puppet Theatre only 5 minutes away and the rest of the Old Quarter just outside waiting to be explored.

It's obviously not a 5 star hotel but it's perfect if the aim of your trip is to experience life outside the hotel doors with the reassurance of friendly, efficient service in a clean and comfortable place for the times you are indoors. Loved it.

“Rising Dragon is Fantastic”

Rising Dragon Hotel

5 of 5 stars
St. Paul, Minnesota
Oct 9, 2008

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Rising Dragon for three nights while in Hanoi, and booked tours to Sapa and Halong Bay through the hotel as well. We were extremely impressed with the front desk staff - they were always smiling and extremely helpful. My boyfriend cut his toe on a city tour while we were there, and one of the staff members hopped on his motorbike and ran to the pharmacy for us to get bandaids, gauze, etc. He was very helpful! The tours we booked through the hotel and the transfers to/from the airport, also booked through the hotel, all worked out perfectly. The location is also great! For the price of the hotel, we would highly recommend the Rising Dragon!

“The staff really make this place...”

Rising Dragon Hotel

Oct 6, 2008

We stayed at the Rising Dragon for several days in mid September 2008 and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful, they really made our stay. The rooms are very clean with simple Asian design. One strange thing that many other people have noted in their reviews are the bathtubs that come up about thigh high so you kind of have to throw a leg over and climb up to get in. Even being forewarned by other reviews and being very cautious both my husband and I slipped and had bad bruises. The location is great, in the old quarter and close and seemed very fairly priced and clean compared to a few other hotels we checked out while there. The breakfast is included but is nothing exceptional. One thing to note, there is not an elevator and there are 6 stories so if you have problems with stairs ask for a room on a lower floor. And ask for a room on the back of the building, as it’s much quieter though you won’t have a window. When we checked in both times (we took a tour to Halong Bay in the middle of our trip) they put us in the best room they had available.

“Very glad we chose to stay there”

My daughter and I arrived in Hanoi from Bangkok at 21.00hrs on a Saturday night. The taxi, the hotel had arranged for us met us at the airport as promised, and took us straight to the hotel.
Our reception when we arrived was both efficient and friendly. Our room was spotless and spacious - we did opt for a double delux as it was only a few dollars more.
We were visiting Vietnam for one week and throughout our visit the staff at the Rising Dragon were extreamly helpful. Their travel desk arranged tours to Sa Pa and Halong Bay which were brilliant.
We ere also delighted with the location of the hotel, in the Old Quarter.

If you are looking for a clean, friendly (albeit no-frills) hotel, I thoroughly recommend this one.
