“A good experience!”

Crowne Plaza Hotel Jerusalem

4 of 5 stars
Toronto, Canada
Jun 7, 2008

Stayed on the 10th floor which had a great view. Really impressed with staff attitude. Always friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant is so delicious. Went for a hair consultation with Kobi at the in-house hair salon. Got a haircut that received a lot of positive comments from people on my tour. Ezekiel in the gift shop was giving away free( no strings attached) little silver stars of David. All in all- had a really nice time.

“One of the most dreadful hotels in the world”

Its hard to know where to start.
The rooms are small and dirty. The walls are thin.
The food is downmarket strict Kosher.
It's noisy. The lifts often dont work.
The staff take rudeness and off handedness to new heights.
It has one of the most inconvenient locations in Jerusalem.
Security is a joke.

“Smallest room ever”

Crowne Plaza Hotel Jerusalem

Feb 5, 2008

Stayed in this hotel for a weekend last year. I think I may have tried to put the experience out of my mind, which is why I'm only reviewing now. We were given the smallest room I have ever stayed in (including in Europe, where small rooms are the norm). I'm getting claustrophobic just thinking about it. We had kids - many kids - in the rooms near us (probably not the hotel's fault) and they were running around in the halls all night. The food was good but this is not the place to go if you want a romantic getaway or a quiet retreat for two.

“Stay at this hotel with caution”

Crowne Plaza Hotel Jerusalem

2 of 5 stars
New York City

My family and I stayed at this hotel during our December 07 vacation. We were very excited about our vacation. When we arrived at this hotel, everything went down hill.

Day 1-We arrived on Shabbat and like other hotels they did operate a Shabbat elevator. However, it took us 20 minutes to get an elevator and up to our room. After a 10 hour flight from New York, this was a little frustrating. All I wanted to do was shower. The other reviews you read about mold in the bathroom were true….showering was a very unpleasant experience with the mold in the bathtub. O-I forgot to mention the beds. I sat down and thought I was going to spring through the ceiling…this hotel has the HARDEST beds out there so if you plan on staying here bring your feather bed cover!!!

Day 2-My family and I decided to go out for dinner. We went outside and asked the 3 bellhops to please get us a taxi. There were 2 other families standing outside waiting for a cab as well when we got there. The 3 bellhops ignored our request and talked for a half hour. After no cab came for 30 minutes, I decided to go down to the street (1 minute walk) to hail a cab for my family and me. I found one within 2 minutes. I got in the cab and drove with the cab driver to pick my family up at the front of the hotel. When I arrived with the cab, the bellhops told me the 2 other families were ahead of us for cabs. They put 1 of the other families in the cab and would not let me or my family take the cab. This was ridiculous, considering that the bellhop should have been down the street hailing cabs for their guests. They CLAIM that family was not a hotel guest (only there for dinner) and they don’t allow their hotel guests to get in just any cab. Meanwhile, we never saw a sign in the hotel saying this. And….at 10pm that night I was sitting in the lobby and saw that same family come back to the hotel and go to their room (so they WERE hotel guests). Moral of the story-the service sucks and the employees are liars who don’t want to do their job!!!

“Terrible at The Crowne Plaza”

First of all they do not know the concept of a "Family Room". In my opinion the family room should accomodate more than TWO people. Yes it only has one bed. It does come with a fold out sofa bed though. However this bed has holes in it. You fall through it if you dont wiegh less then a pound.
They advertise that there is wi-fi availible in the room, howver you have to pay for this service by ordering a card. They do have two desktops in the lobby but you have to pay for it too. It seems that you have to pay for everything but the air in that hotel. That will come shortly.
If you want ice , fat chance they have ONE ice machine, however it is broken.
They also advertise a pool and gym, but they charge 30 Nis (New Israeli Shekalim) to use the sevices(not including the pool).
The rooms are not well kept at all and you can find rust all over the doorways and in the bathroom.
Being a "FAMILY ROOM" i was hoping that they would supply us with enough towels for more that two people, howver they did not.
If this is your last resort, still do not take it.
Take my advice and stay at the Inbal Hotel, amazing food, amazing pool and other sevices, well kept and beutiful rooms , extremly nice stafff and well worth it. Close to the old city and the main social scene. It is located on 3 Jabotinsky In Jerusalem.
