Was here on business for a few nights in January. This was was my first trip to Amman, so I have no basis for comparison. The hotel was decent -- nothing special -- but adequate for my needs. It seemed to be centrally located within the city, although i was driven to all my business meetings and meals, etc. and never got a chance to walk anywhere from the hotel. I did eat the buffet breakfast at the hotel, which was quite large, with a wide variety of food. The hotel staff was largely impersonal, although perhaps that is to be expected from a large hotel such as this.

Definitely not 5-star and at best a 3-star hotel in the UK. Two things particularly annoyed me. Since the bombing, the Radisson has actually fenced off the driveway, so generally no cars (including taxis that drop you off) can drive to the front of the hotel. This may not seem like a big hassle but one actually needs to catch a taxi to go most places in Amman (as it is not a walkable city). One is then forced to walk down to the bottom of the driveway and flag down a taxi by the size of the road, with taxis coming down the hill at 80mph. Because of this hassle, the hotel is extremely reluctant to help you get a taxi as well. They much prefer that you take one of the hotel cars and they will charge you for it. For a trip across town which normally cost JD1.5-2.0, the hotel charged me JD5.0. Sure it is not a lot of money at the end of the day but still, it bothered me that the staff were unhelpful in getting me a cab and said that I should go in one of the hotel cars instead. The second downside is that the staff are generally very polite but highly unhelpful.

Also, please note that this hotel has actually ceased to be part of the Radisson SAS chain since June 2007. However, the hotel still markets itself as part of the chain. (You can confirm this on the Radisson main website.) So you will not get points for your stay, not to mention the fact that this hotel is far below the standard quality of Radisson SAS hotels.

This is your typical international chain hotel - you could be anywhere in the world. Inexplicably, some people seem to like that when they are travelling!
Very comfortable, nice bathroom with robe, free internet connection, excellent breakfast buffet, efficient check in and staff. The only black mark would be the absolutely horrible 'snack' left in the room upon our arrival at 2am (the Royal Jordanian flight time means a very late arrival in Amman). Presumably the tour group we travelled with requested this, and it is probably what you get if you ask the hotel for a picnic lunch box. This boxed 'meal' consisted of 2 sandwiches, made from processed white sliced bread(!), sliced plastic cheese and truly horrible ham (ham in a muslim country!), a piece of old, dry cake and a battered piece of fruit. Luckily, I wasn't hungry, but it was an insult to be offered food like this in a 5-star hotel. Otherwise, just as would expect. Very bland but pretty reliable.

Decent clean well run hotel. Much better than many hotels in Amman.
good central location.
