“Voyager beach resort- fantastic holiday”

We stayed at the Voyager beach resort from the 14th- 25th of sep 2008. We all had a fantastic holiday, after a long day traveling we were greated with hot towels, and drinks, there was a short dely getting to our room, but we had a sea view room which was unexpected but fantastic we look straight out over the Indian ocean. We went on an all inclusive basis, we did get caught out a couple of times, such as we were offered lattaies in the afternoon whist sunbathing by the pool, then we were given a bill, but you learn quickly what is included in the all inclusive drinks and food. We travelled with a 7 & 5 year old, they had a fantastic time, i was unsure weather to leave them in the Adventurers club, but we need not have woried, they were the only children at the resort most of the time and asked to go to the club on a daily basis, going swimming, trips to the water park, painting ,t shirt painting, watching movies, going to the beach, they even chose the club over snorkiling with us one afternoon. All the staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble, the place has a real homely feel to it and i want to go back already. The food is great, although sometimes repeatative, but you will never go hungry. There is evening entertainment most nigts and the animation team are fantastic. There are also plenty of trips to go on, we did the Mombasa city tour, dinner on the Tamarid dow, Haller Park, snorkling at the coral gardens, we had already been on safari, but there are plenty of safaris to book whisly staying at voyger. There is a shop to by toliletries, gifts ect, but it is a little over priced and there is a Nako mat super market a short walk or taxi drive that is better priced. There is a laundry service, we took travel wash, but we could have done with a travel iron. The hotel is right on the beach, there are the beach boys down there who can be a pain, but dont let it put you off going to the beach, there are 3 pools, loads of loungers, and plenty of people around to help with any needs. I wounld recommend voyager to everyone, many of the people we met had been previousyto the hotel, one couple even returned to get married at the resort. Loads to do, snorkling, pedal boats, wind surfing, diving, lounging, swimming arobics.

We have recently returned from a weeks holiday at the Voyager hotel. There was only one thing wrong! We should have gone for 3 or 4 weeks.
We chose a superior room which was of a good size and quality, it overlooked the beach and the quiet pool(for adults only who want peace and quiet),there are two other pools used for various activities. We were on an all inclusive package which we would fully recommend, the food which was buffett service was extremly good, both varied and plentiful. There are also 2 a la carte restaurants which are excellent.
All the staff were lovely, they were very friendly and could not please us enough, and made our stay a real pleasure.
The activity team worked very hard in providing both day time and nightly entertainment.
Although we rarely go back to the same hotel twice, this one is a must, and we will return!

“A Perfect Holiday”

Voyager Hotel & Staff: August 08
Reviewers Pete & Gill
This holiday will always rank as one of the best that we have enjoyed. The hotel was everything that we could have wanted and more. We were slightly apprehensive over some comments that we had read concerning 'third world countries' but we found ourselves in paradise.
The staff were all excellent and absolutely nothing was too much trouble. They were all so friendly from the reception staff right through to the groundsmen.
The room that we had was a superior garden view (allocated upon arrival) and we had two double beds! Facilities included en-suite bathroom, TV with plenty of channels,( if TV is your thing), fridge, balcony with seats, table etc. We even had towelling robes and an umbrella in the room. The room was always kept clean & tidy with a steady supply of toiletries, drinking water & tea and coffee.
Dining was a treat and you can not go hungry there. A fantastic choice of vegetables to accompany various cuts of meat and fish for lunch and dinner and virtually anything for breakfast including cereals, fruit, pancakes and good old bacon, sausage & egg. We tried the Smugglers Cove restaurant one night and we can recommend the lobster - and there's plenty of it.
On the all inclusive drinks selection, this was slightly disappointing because of a small selection. Previous all inclusive holidays have provided a far wider selection and included a lot of recognisable brands. This in no way marred the experience and it is just a comment to note.
We have made friends with some of the staff and remain in contact. Look out for Nellie and Shadrack in the restaurant. Their service, friendliness and attention to detail added so much to our stay. Lucy, Janet and Ruth looked after us and our expanding waist lines and others too numerous to mention.
The pool staff were exceptionally helpful and we even foud 'our beds' ready and waiting every morning in the exact spot where we had them the day before.
The grounds were well stocked & kept and included unusual extras like tortoises and terrapins along with visiting monkeys.
I could go on and on (even more) but the point is that we had a fantastic time and we will go back.
If you do visit, please pas on our regards to all.

The Voyager is a great hotel with excellent staff, in all areas.

We had a great time at the quiet pool where Sammy looked after us really well. The animation team are great and really go out of their way to make sure that you have a great holiday. The food is great and there is always a great choice

But there are a few things that nobody tells you

1) Men should take at least 2 pairs of long trousers as at night in the restaurant you are not allowed to wear shorts.

2) The drinks that you get on the all inclusive are not the best and in the main bar there are loads if drinks on display that are not covered and they are really expensive, so ask to see the prices first.

“Amazing hotel and more amazing safari”

Voyager Beach Resort

Hi everybody,
If you have not decided wich hotel to book, you can choose the Voyager for sure. It is an amazing good hotel with the most friendly staff. We stayed there for 3 weeks and had the best time. It is a very clean and nice looking hotel, the food is perfect and everything is nearby.
From the hotel you step on the beach and there the adventure begins. A lot of beach boys selling the safari or some souvenirs. If you stay nice, they will be very good to you.
If you have any clothing or shoes, you might not be needing back home, leave it with them. They will know people you can use if for sure.
We booked our safari with Alex Mbui, working for Mombasa North Tours. Very good guy, google him for more information.

Every night, there was a show in the hotel, but with our guide, we went to a small village also a couple of times. It is called Mtwapa and it was very good to see how the Kenyans themself live their life.

Our guide also took us on some nice daytrips, like Mamba Village, Malindi and Haller Park.

The safari was the most amazing thing. We still can not believe our pictures. How could it be that these animals live their so peacefully while we are looking an dtaking the pictures? It is really a wonder.
For a good price, very comfortable lodge and hawk eyes to spot the big five, please contact Alex. You can do this by contacting me, or direct: [--] or [--]

Have lots of fun and enjoy this beautiful part of the world.
