Cannot say enough nice things about the Marriott Singapore. It is located in the middle of the 'upscale' district so if you like shopping for luxury items - it's perfect. Staff are ultra friendly and helpful. Management is caring and responsive. Rooms are a little small but exceptionally well appointed. I am a Marriott Platinum member so I used the executive lounge - and it is simply the best lounge I have ever visited. There is a wide variety of snacks, food, drinks, fruit, etc. and a happy hour from 5:30-7:30pm. Staff pamper you beyond any expectation. If you visit the lounge, get to know the chief concierge Rachel. She'll spoil you rotten.

This hotel is smack in the heart of Orchard Road, in shopping mall land. McD's is on the left, food republic is right across the road in a mall called Wisma Atria.

Great place, and lively all day until 10 at night!

I've stayed in this hotel several times.

Location, location, location ! This is the main thing the hotel has going for it.

Executive lounge is OK with free drinks, wine, and snacks at happy hour .... but usually very crowded. Also crowded for the exec breakfast.

The ground floor restaurant is similarly very crowded during breakfast.

Rooms are OK but really small unless you get a suite.

This hotel rarely gives upgrades to Marriott Rewards (Gold or Platinum) UNLESS you ask for them. Even be a bit aggressive.

Staff are OK but don't go out of their way to be friendly or helpful. In their defence compared to Bangkok I would say that this hotel is comparatively understaffed. Checking in and out can take some time because of the few staff on duty at the front desk.

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights and found it to be excellent. It is located on the bustling Orchard Road and right above the MRT station (Orchard Road) which makes it very easy to get to the hotel from the airport and to get out and about in Singapore.

The hotel staff were exceptional and the lovely outdoor pool provided welcome relief when the shopping got too much!

We were staying in an executive room which included breakfast each morning, cocktails and snacks from 5-7pm and deserts from 7-9pm in the executive lounge on the 27th floor (great views!). The executive lounge is one of the best I've come across and if you wanted to, you could eat dinner there as the evening 'snacks' included plentiful hot and cold food.

The bed was exceptionally comfortable (one of the new marriott revive beds) and the facilities in the room included a huge flatscreen television.

I would recommend a room on one of the higher floors for a great city view.
