“Dont let the Hilton name attract you”

I needed to schedule a meeting and requested a suite and three rooms for my managers. When I arrived at 7pm the room was not ready and they didnt even say they had an alternative solution. I needed to consult with the manager and after a 3 hour delay they gave me two rooms instead of the suite I ordered. No apology. The front desk whole attitude with othere guest seemed rude and curt. When I offered my Diamond hilton card they said they did not except them that they only had the Hilton name and they where not really a Hilton. The room are ok but not five star like the rating on advisor. Service is the name of the gane in the hotel business and this place does not have it. If you are looking for a cheap room in a casino come one come all ,but dont expect special treatment.

“BEWARE BEFORE YOU STAY HERE 06/08”

Hilton Casino Atlantic City Resort

Let me start by saying it was Friday the 13th. My sister and I were heading down to see a show. With so much traffic the trip that should have been an hour and half became a three hour trip. The Hilton AC offered me a free room that night so I thought we would stay and hit the beach in the morning. I usually only stay at the Borgata but figured how bad could the Hilton be? I stayed at the Hilton AC before the Borgata was open. I had called to let them know we were in so much traffic we would have to wait to check in. They said no problem. When the show was over and before we grabbed something to eat, I called the Hilton again to let them know we were definitely still coming, even asked if I could give them a credit card to hold the room. The gentleman who answered the phone said no problem thanks for calling we will see you when you arrive. NOW, the excitement really begins---we go inside to check in and are told the only room they have left is a smoking room with a murphy bed. Ok it's late I have to take it. When we arrived at our room the stench of stale smoke hit us in the face, but it gets better the bed was on the floor! On the floor! It was half a room! We went back down stairs to talk to a manager since the girl at the desk said that was their only room left. Well here he comes-the night manager, he proceeds to tell me they have nothing available they are full and says, I hear your gonna want your $7 taxes that I had just paid to be returned. Well he just said here's the $7, sorry you have to drive all the way home. I was appalled because in all the years I have been staying at the casino's I have never just been told bye. I still can't believe they tried to put us in part of a room. I explained to him that it was not acceptable. I asked where my sister would have slept and he said they would have brought a cot. What if I had two more people with me? (where were they going to put all the rest of the people that were in line behind me if that was the only room?) Mr front desk manager didn't even offer to call Ceasars, their other property. He just said good bye. PLEASE if you are planning an overnight beware here, if their full you are turned away like that. He did say to me your parking will be paid for it's the least I can do for you! I asked the manager if he would stay in that room he told me when AC has snow storms that's where he stays, but he did tell me he was a smoker and he doesn't mind. I thought to myself how often does that area get hit by that much snow that he has to stay there? I wouldn't let my enemy stay in that room. One last thing he also said they have 60 of those half rooms, so again beware if you are planning a stay at the Hilton AC. I am a Hilton Honors Card Holder and have never ever had a problem like this before. I just read on here that AC Hilton is no longer affiliated with the HHonors, no wonder they are not up to par with the rest of the Hilton Hotels. As I write this I still feel like it was a dream and I am gonna wake up soon. It was definitely a true Friday the 13th.

“Find another hotel!!!”

Hilton Casino Atlantic City Resort

Six friends and I, all celebrating a "special" birthday this year, met for a reunion in Atlantic City from 5/30 - 6/1 and stayed at the Atlantic City Hilton. We were all SO surprisingly disappointed. The hotel - located almost at the "end" of the boardwalk - a mile or more from the Taj Mahal, Caesar's, Bally's etc., offers little in terms of what one goes to Atlantic City for! The hotel's accommodations are ok - it's a nice looking building, clean, with wide, attractive hallways to the rooms. The lighting SUCKS in the rooms! (Which I often find to be a problem in many hotels.) A request for extra towels took two phone calls and 6 hours. There are NO SHOPS!!! No place to spend one's winnings - except a small "gift shop" for those forgotten sundries, soda, a snack or a souvenir. The restaurants....... that's another story! The hotel is advertising PATSY'S (of NY fame) as their main restaurant - BUT IT WAS CLOSED! On Saturday night - looking for an after dinner cup of coffee and piece of cake - our choices included only one very sad, unattractive, cafeteria looking 24-hour restaurant!! Their coffee & dessert restaurant was closed - as was all their other dining options. Ridiculous!! It cost us $40 for 2 pieces of melon, 3 pieces of cake, 1 corn muffin and 4 coffees! And the service was horrendous! There is also no entertainment in the hotel except for a 3 piece band in their only bar off the casino. BORING!

Skip the Hilton and find another place. Maybe the Tropicana - where we had dinner, saw a show, and did some shopping!

“A decent experience at the Hilton”

Hilton Casino Atlantic City Resort

3 of 5 stars
Greensboro,NC

This is the 2nd time staying at the AC Hilton but the first time in several years and stayed one night while traveling on business midweek in May 2008.

Not much had changed since the last time: nice rooms, a great view of the ocean, decent gambling options, very limited dining options midweek and not much in terms of a bar scene or nightlife. Probably a 3 ½ star hotel.

The rooms are fairly large and mine had a great view of the ocean. Lots of lighting can set any mood with dimmers throughout. The bathroom was large with double sinks but a combined shower / tub setup. The bed was decent but nothing to rival the Marriott, Sheraton & Hilton chains. No wireless network. A small refrigerator was present. A non-HD TV was in the entertainment center that doubled as a closet for hanging clothes. Room was clean. BTW – this is no longer owned by Hilton and Hilton Honors points can not be used or earned.

The restaurant choices are very limited on a Wed. Night. Only the buffet, café and steakhouse were open. Also, besides the restaurants, only one real bar in the place and a very quiet scene. We went to the Tropicana Quarter for dinner (a good meal at Cuba Libre) and drinks (an excellent martini bar and Russian restaurant called Red Square). In the morning we walked back to the Trop for coffee at Starbucks.

The casino was good and I won some money playing Spanish 21 (not a common occurrence).

The entire property was well maintained and on the upscale side. Self parking was $5 on-site.

The biggest negative to the AC Hilton is that it is had the far south end of the Boardwalk and, except for the Tropicana, there is a far walk to the other properties.

I would put this hotel mid-pack: Borgata is the best; Resorts had nicer rooms, Harrahs is a nicer resort but at the marina, Trump Taj is about on-par, Trump Marina is worst of the bunch.

“Average Atlantic City Hotel Casino”

Hilton Casino Atlantic City Resort

3 of 5 stars
Pennsylvania, USA
Apr 23, 2008

I was in Atlantic City on business and chose the Hilton since I am a Hilton Hhonors member. Upon arriving I was informed that even though it has the Hilton name it is no longer part of the Hilton chain. No big deal but just an FYI for those who don't know and might be surprised, as I was.

Nice rooms with a great view. My room had a coffee maker but a friends room did not. They requested one and told it would be delivered ASAP, but it never showed up. We had adjoining rooms so we just shared mine. The only complaint were the pillows. They were very hard and quite small. Also, there is no internet access which was a top priority for me since I was there on business. This is advertised on their website as an amenity, but it was not available.

The location was great. We were able to walk up to the Pier shops at Ceasars and beyond.

We did not eat at the hotel so I can't judge the food or restaurants. I also don't gamble so I can't judge the casino.

This was an average hotel, no worse or better than other casino resorts I've stayed at in Atlantic City. I got a tremendous deal from Orbitz which made it that much better. I would have been disappointed if I paid the price the hotel itself was asking.
