We used TripAdvisor to find this gem and the reviews did not disappoint. We spent 4 nights here as part of our honeymoon and they were the best 4 nights we've spent any where. The hotel is beautiful, both property-wise and view-wise. The owner, Despina, is amazing and I've never felt so personally welcomed and cared for at a hotel before. We were in the White Room, which I highly recommend, although all of the rooms facing the caldera are winners. Imerovigli itself is a little quieter than Fira and Oia, so it's perfect for a honeymoon. However, if you want to be in the thick of things and very close to restaurants, Anastasi's might not be for you. You can have food delivered, but the closest tavern is Taso's, which is wonderful, but it's the closest place to eat. Overall, a PERFECT honeymoon location!! WE WILL BE BACK!!

After using Tripadvisor for years I finally opened an account just so I could tell other people how wonderful this hotel is- it's that good.

My husband and I were a bit skeptical when we saw all the rave reviews online- he assumed the owner just opened a bunch of gmail accounts and kept writing them. Once we got there, the hotel far exceeded our expectations. It is absolutely beautiful. From the view, to the layout of the facilities, to the apartments themselves, we were blown away. You can not beat watching the fabulous sunsets from your balcony. The staff was incredibly attentive and seemed to do our thinking for us. There are no kids allowed so it is wonderfully peaceful and relaxing- perfect for a romantic getaway.

Sitting on our balcony we noticed people walking by looking enviously at our hotel and Santorini is certainly not lacking in beautiful hotels. I have not one complaint and I'm a pretty discerning person. I highly recommend a car or ATV rental- it is a bit off the beaten path, as great destinations tend to be. Definitely stay here if you can and book early. We booked for June 08 in October 07 and still had to rearrange our schedule because most dates were already taken. Our only regret is staying just 4 days, next time around we'll do at least a week.

My husband and I stayed at this spectacular hotel for only 2 nights in June 2008 at the end of a whirlwind trip to Istanbul, Athens, and beautiful Santorini. We were looking for a place to relax after weeks of sightseeing and to enjoy the famous Santorini sunsets. We booked this hotel based on the reviews here at TripAdvisor. Not only were we not disappointed, my expectations were even surpassed. This hotel is amazing!

I booked the hotel via emails with Despina, the gracious, friendly, and helpful owner of the hotel. I was worried about availability, since we didn't book until a couple of months before our trip. Despina was able to accommodate us in a simple room the first night, moving us to a junior suite for our second night. This sounded fine, so we sent our deposit and booked the rooms.

Getting there:
We arrived by ferry, grabbed a taxi at the port, and he knew exactly where the Anastasis Apartments were. Despina was there to greet us at the gate to the hotel before we could even get ourselves out of the taxi.

Check-in:
... was a breeze. Then, she walked us out to the pool area with a breathtaking view of the caldera. Speechless... it is even more beautiful than the pictures. We then sat with another hotel employee in the lounge area (and I'm sorry I can't remember her name, because she, too, was very friendly and helpful.) She showed us locations on a map for restaurants, beaches, and parking all over the island. She also provided a list of these places. Very helpful! Then, she took us to our room where our bags were waiting.

The 1st room (Basic):
The room was a quaint and nice on the front site of the building (no caldera view). It had a queen size bed, and even a small kitchen area with dishes, small refrigerator, small stove, anything you would need. We each had a robe and slippers, too. Although we didn't have a view from this room; we were very happy with it.

The 2nd room (Junior Suite):
This room was large and very nice. It had a larger bed, couch, kitchen area, a bigger and nicer bathroom. Most noteworthy was the balcony with amazing view of the caldera!

Breakfast:
11 euro per day for the two of us. The first day we wanted to enjoy the view, so Despina had our breakfast delivered to the hot tub deck area. It was a nice breakfast with yogurt, breads, boiled egg, fresh fruit, coffee, and juice. It was very nice. Our next morning we had to leave before 5am to catch our plane. We asked if we could have some breakfast foods delivered the night before. When we got to our room from dinner, the refrigerator was stocked with our breakfast for the morning.

Pool and Hot Tub:
The infinity pool and deck area is inviting and relaxing. The views are so beautiful. If we had gotten to stay longer, I could have spent most of the days just sitting on the deck and swimming, enjoying the view. The hot tub is scheduled for 1 hour at check-in. It is very nice as well.

Car rental:
We wanted to rent a car for the day to visit the Red Beach. The hotel had the car delivered to the hotel and we left it at the airport. It was a breeze.

There is a restaurant close to the hotel that will pick you up and return you after your meal... Toy Nikoy. The food was delicious and the owner very friendly! Highly recommended!

Overall, the hotel gets 5+ stars. I cannot wait until we can get back here again and stay longer! This place is a true gem in an beautiful location with amazing service!

“Excelent Location, Superb Service, Stunning Views!”

Anastasis Apartments

This was the first holiday we had booked on-line after some very mediocre holiday experiences with some of the high street travel companies - we will definitely be doing it via this means again! Although I am not sure that anywhere else could live up to the excellent hospitality, service and accomodation that we received when we stayed at Despina's Anastasis Apartments.

There are just ten apartments in the complex, which lies onthe very edge of the cliffs of the Caldera, overlooking some of themost stunning scenery I have seen. The apartments and complex are spottlessly clean (Victor even mopsup your drips when you step out of the pool!!). You never have to lift a finger as the personnal service is excellent and the breakfasts are to die for!

I would thoroughly recommend staying at the Anastasis Apartments - if you want pure relaxation and indulgence, then look no further.

Top Tips - Take some trainers or walking shoes for the walk up (and down) the hill into Imerovigli and be prepared for a brisk breze at night (not cold, but another layer may be needed by the ladies). Only hire a car for the day (suggest the last day of your stay as youcan then use it to get to the airport) - approx 35 euro (plus full insurance of 10 euro) for the day. Petrol is currently about 10 pence cheaper per litre than in UK (although yo won't need much,we only put in 10 litres (about 13 euros) for 6 hours of travelling around the island (including stops). Visit Oia (stunning views but again take stout walking shoes or good sandals for walks up and down steps to port), and visit Kamari (beach promanade with some excellent bars and restaurants). Finally, if your wife, partner, or significant other likes jewellry - then take the credit card!!

Top Meals Out - Try the Italian in Imerovigli (about a brisk 15 minute walk from the apartments up the hill) called Kapellino - excellent food, best house wine we tasted all week, and great service (approx 40 euro for a two course meal for two with wine (0.5L) and water).

“Amazing Location, Friendly Service”

We stayed at this hotel, the day before our wedding and for the rest of our stay as our honeymoon treat. The hotel was absolutely amazing with the most spectacular view, including and infinity pool looking out onto the caldera and the sunset. The view could also be seen from our apartment and the balcony.

The service was fantastic, they looked after us really well. They welcomed us when we walked from Fira to the Hotel (which isn't recommended on a hot day during midday sun, as it's a bit too hot). They showed us around the hotel and let us use their facilities, which we needed to after the long hot walk.

We also had an opportunity to use the jacuzzi for an hour, which is placed on a veranda. You get the whole area to yourselves for an hour and get to admire the view whilst sitting in the bubbles.

This is definitely recommended for a relaxing romantic break, and we didn't spend enough time there relaxing.
