Zheng He Park is in Kunyang town of Jinning County.

For people don’t know Zheng He. He led many great voyages to the western ocean from 1405 to 1433. His voyages record showed places such as the tip of Africa and Americas before the European discovery. He was born in Jinning County of Yunnan in 1371 and died on his last voyage. He commanded 7 fleets of 30,000 men and over 300 ships. Zheng He was a much respected hero in Chinese history.

The original name for the park is YueShang Park. Because YueShang is Zheng He’s home town and his parents were barred there. The name of the park was changed to Zheng He Park in 1979. Of course his tomb is empty. The park is a nice place to walk around. There are 250 acres of pine trees, berlin trees and fruits trees in the park.

From Kunming, you can take a bus from XiaXiMen to Jinning.
