A visit to the
National Science Center
, located just outside of Kuala Lumpur, is a great off the beaten path activity for the whole family. The science center, built beneath a giant glass dome, was opened in 1996 to promote the study of the sciences in Malaysia. It is somewhat equivalent to the Smithsonian Institute in the US in its style and set up, and is easy to get to by driving or by public transportaion. Visitors to the center will see interactive, themed exhibits such as the Environmental Odyssey and the Thinking Machine. The center is open every day except Sunday. For more information see their website.
