The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Center is a large facility housing several theatres, studios, and a resource center for working actors, dancers, and musicians.  It was built using money from the Petronas Corportation as a way to foster interest in the arts amongst the country's youth, fearing that the emphasis on science and technology in Malaysian education would eventually leave no place for creative expression.  At any given time several performances are taking place at the center which are open to the public.  These include plays, musicals, concerts, and dance performances.  The center is also home to a large park, one of the biggest green spaces in the city.  Performance schedules, directions, and tickets are available at the Arts Center's website.
