Up the Rio Plata delta 90 minutes by boat that makes the trip once a day is a nature lodge of 16 cabanas connected by wooden walkways. It is a wonderful retreat from BA. The lodge has dining, living rooms with fireplace, pool. In summer kayaking or paddle boats to explore wetlands off the Rio Parana. The setting is rustic but luxurious. Sitting by the fireplace in the lodge reading, playing backgammon, or using WiFi makes even the winter time enjoyable. Although not a naturalist type myself the area around the lodge is fascinating. In August we were the only guests which made it feel like our very own luxurious private retreat. Each bungalow opens up onto the river with a deck with two lounge chairs. The deck can be enclosed by lowering mosquito netting in seasons when bugs are a problem. Traveling up the river one feels like Kurtz. No roads penetrate the delta so all traffic if by boat. Would make this a must do thing for all visits to BA.
