Mendoza definitely has an active nightlife, although one mustn't compare it to Buenos Aires. Either way, taking a nap before you head out is probably a great idea since most likely, you will tire out with all of the day's outdoor, action-packed activities. Argentineans love music and finding outdoor performances should be just as likely as performances in local bars--that is to say, very likely. Try Plaza Independencia for outdoor music performances happening spontaneously.

For starters, head to the trendy areas like Aristides Villanueva Street downtown to find the hotspot for the night. Some local favorite bars, not all in this area include: La Guanaca, B.U., and La Reserva.

If it's dancing you are after, there are a couple of popular and packed discos that run well into the night...or morning during the weekends: El Diablo, Runner, and Apeteco. Even though these are discoteques, casual dress is ok in Mendoza.

As Argentina is famous for the tango, you are likely to find the elusive dance at C'Gaston or Abril Cafe.

But, there is truly something for everybody, gamblers included. The Regency Casino in the Park Hyatt  and Casino Provincial are available for those who want to take their chances.
