Salta, is a town where 600,000 inhabitants live from the agriculture, mining, public administration, commerce, and tourism. Most  of them have the chance to get a siesta between the first half of the day and the second one. This break is about three to four hours after lunch and it gives people the chance to enjoy the day twice. It also helps people to be awake until the sun rises again. Salteños are very fond of eating tasty meals and meeting friends at night, playing guitars and singing or just watching those who do it well. Many salteños and tourists go to the area which became famous in the last few years: the area of Balcarce St. In this area, most of the pubs, restaurants and bars include the dance of gauchos and different kind of bands performing live. People of all ages, including families with children, attend to these places to enjoy  the popular music of the NW, a mix of indian and spanish culture... The dancers display the flirting on the stage. The dance is soft, nice and romantic...  The guitars and the voices of the singers in perfect harmony, the handkerchives flying softly, and their gesture makes the show something worth to be seen. A "zamba", a "chacarera" or whatever you hear talks about love, .... poetry made movements in the air. It would be described as the folklore dance... Do not miss it. La vieja Estacion, El Patio de la Balcarce, la Panaderia are some of the options...but there are some others you can choose from. In all of them you can eat empanadas or drink  wine or beer. You will enjoy it.
