In the city of Salta, and throughout the area surrounding it, there are plenty of sports and activities to keep all of its visitors busy.

            An amazing day trip that can be taken out of the city involves driving up over the highest route in the Americas.  The Acay Dale, whose summit is more than 5,700 meters tall, is located within a day’s drive of Salta.  The road passage is 4,897 meters above sea level, making it one of the highest in the world.  A few companies with offices in Salta take tourists on this trip.  For more information, check out this Acay Dale Road link.

            Fishing for Dorado on the Juramento River is a great way to spend a day (or four) while visiting Salta.   Certain companies offer guided tours that involve four wheeling through jungle roads to the Juramento River.   Once at the river, the real excitement begins.   There are not many things as exciting as rafting down the Juramento River, trying to catch the powerful Dorado.   For more information, check out this Rafting and Fishing link.
