For such a small town, Prescott boasts an impressive annual event calendar. Whatever your interest, there is sure to be a festival or event in Prescott to feed that interest.

In May of each year, the city hosts the “ May in the Meadows Renaissance Faire”, which features all the usual renaissance faire accoutrements, including medieval arts, magic and various crafts.

Also in May, usually the week after the Renaissance Faire, you can head for the Prescott Highland Games, where you can enjoy Scottish food, listen to bagpipes and watch various contests.

Prescott Valley Days highlights all the fun of a small town, and it’s held in June of each year. In a true carnival atmosphere, you can enjoy rides, a swim meet, a talent contest and a fun run. This is a 5-day event held in the Prescott Valley Town Center.

The city hosts a bluegrass festival in the Courthouse Plaza each year in June. On Saturday, you can join in the street dance.

The world’s oldest rodeo is held in Prescott each year on 4th of July weekend. Prescott Frontier Days and the World’s Oldest Rodeo feature a variety of old-time rodeo events. This is a huge city event each year and a great way to hang with the locals while soaking in great Prescott energy.

In August, you can enjoy the annual Shakespeare festival or a professional bull riding show.

Prescott is called Arizona’s Christmas capital, so be sure to take in some Christmas spirit in the month of December. There are a variety of special events held each year, ranging from the World’s Largest Gingerbread Village, where you can enjoy a display of more than 100 gingerbread houses, to Holiday Festival of Lights, where you can enjoy a spectacular show of Christmas lights throughout the Prescott Valley.
