Bill Williams Mountain is as close to heaven as you can get without actually going there.  Views to the North to the Grand Canyon are beautiful.  To the Southeast you can see the Red Rocks of Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon and Rim Country.  There are communications towers at the site and a fire lookout tower.  You can take the stairs to the bottom of the lookout tower and see forever.  The road to the site is in good shape for most of the year and most two wheel drives can make it to the top of the mountain.  Now the road is not for the meek.  It is dirt, narrow and at times steep on the sides.     This trip is recommended if you are adventurous or just a bit bold.  If by chance you are visiting during the fall, the drive up to the top will be filled with the colors of fall with leaves changing to yellow, orange and red.  Avoid this road during the winter unless you have a 4WD and then only if the road looks to have been plowed and maintained.  This place is a well kept secret, but is worth a look.
