Yuma is located in the southwestern corner of Arizona, near the borders of California, and Sonora and Baja California, Mexico. It is about 180 miles southwest of Phoenix, 240 miles west of Tucson, and 180 miles east of San Diego, California.
If you want to fly into Yuma , your best bet is to arrive at the Yuma International Airport, which receives flights from Phoenix via American West Express and from Los Angeles via United Express. From there you can easily rent a car. There are several agencies located at the east end of the passenger terminal, opposite the baggage claim area, including Avis, Budget, Dollar, and Hertz. If you prefer to take a taxi, only one company is allowed to pick up passengers at the airport: Yuma City Cab, at 928-782-4444. There is also local bus service provided by the Yuma County Area Transit (YCAT) system. The bus stop is on the curb in front of the FC Braden Passenger Terminal.
If you are driving in, Yuma is located along I-8, which runs from Casa Grande, Arizona to San Diego, California. You can also arrive by train. Amtrak provides service from Los Angeles, California and from New Orleans, Louisiana. The train station is located on Gila Street.
