Things have changed over the years in Breckenridge, but the skiing has always been great! The cost of lift tickets has gone up considerably over the last 3-4 years. You can still find “deals” out there but be ready to pay between $175-350 for a week of snowy fun. If you are always looking for good deals here are a few ideas for your stay in Breckenridge:

  1. Good lift ticket prices can be found on Expedia or Travelocity about 14 days BEFORE you plan to ski.
  2. A good place to buy groceries if you like to cook your own meals is in Frisco, Co.  There is a large grocery store (Krogers) next to a Walmart. Stay away from the one in Breck -- the prices are about 10% higher.
  3. Avoid parking in the skiing lots downtown. Park at the sports center for free and catch the shuttle bus to peak 8 or 9.
  4. If you are staying in Breck for a week or so during the Spring Season, head over to Keystone (about 30 min drive) early in the morning one day and ski there until things get slushy. You will find some of the best rolling blues in the U.S. and if you bought a multi-day pass it doesn’t cost anything (lift tickets are good at Breck, Keystone, and A-Basin + Vale/Beaver Creek).
  5. The cost of a meal and a beer on the slopes is extremely high. Pack a lunch with drinks and such and stash it on the mountain somewhere.

There are several great places to eat in Breckenridge (and a few a short drive away):

1.      Daylight Doughnuts (great breakfast and extremely well priced)

2.      The Breckenridge Brewery (Check out the “working Man’s special” good burgers and beer and a great open faced turkey sandwich)

3.      The Mint (in Silverthorne, great steaks)

4.      Rasta Pasta (Pasta with a nice kick)

5.      Michele’s Italian Restaurant

6.      Holly Crapes (open air take out)
