Daytona Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.  It's great fun to sunbathe, swim, and play along miles and miles of pristine beach.  Choose from car friendly beaches or the vehicle-free area; eleven of the 23 miles are vehicle free.

There are numerous beachfront parks including Sun Splash Park, one mile south of International Speedway Blvd. This park features several large fountains that shoot water into the air and will provide hours of fun for kids' of all ages.  A lifeguard tower is nearby and the park has clean and modern bathrooms, showers, covered picnic tables, and barbecues.  This is a very relaxing place to hang out on the beach.  Bring your umbrella, a picnic lunch, a good book, and enjoy.   Pets are permitted at all oceanfront parks as long as they remain on a leash.  Pets are not permitted on the beach.

A popular area for tourists and locals alike is the area that stretches from U.S. 92 (International Speedway Blvd.) to Seabreeze Blvd. (S.R. 430). To accommodate this vehicle-free zone, utilizie the 1,500-space parking garage on Earl Street directly accross the street from the Hilton Ocean Walk and  Oceanwalk Village, the Main Street Pier and Boardwalk, and the Daytona Beach Bandshell.  It's always fun to sit  outside at one of the eateries at Oceanwalk Village and enjoy a refreshing drink, ice-cream, or hearty meal from one of the many eateries and night life spots, after a day of sunbathing.

You may want to take a drive on the beach in your car.   It is a great experience, especially with the windows down.  Beach driving is allowed during dayltime hours from one hour after sunrise to one hour before sunset, with the exception of turtle nesting season, which runs from May 1, through October 31, at which time the hours are set from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Beach driving conditions are sometimes poor during high tide and the beach may be closed to vehicles, however it is always open and accessible to pedestrians. The speed limit is 10 mph and is strickly enforced.  Avoid soft sandy areas and stay in the traffic lane.

Most importantly, remember safety while on the beach.  Always swim in front of a lifeguard, keep a close eye on your children, and remain alert to surf conditions. Educate yourself and your children on rip currents.  So, slather on some sunblock, put on a hat, drink plenty of fluids and relax and have a blast!

No matter where you stay within the area, you are within a quick drive to everything.
