Though Panama City doesn't have as big a nightlife as Miami, there is definitely a lot to do once the sun goes down. There are tons of great bars and clubs that are opened until the early morning hours, and many people go to them, whether they are locals or tourists. Once the sun goes down, a ceremonial canon is fired, and the nighlife really begins. If you are staying at a big hotel or resort, they will most likely have some sort of entertainment or lounge for partying. If you don't want to hang out there you don't have to though. You could go for a walk down the beach and look up at the stars, or just sit in a cafe and enjoy some drinks with friends or family. Panama City has some great sports bars where you can go in without a cover charge. There, you can watch some games, play pool or darts, and just relax. A few popular bars in the city are Back Door Lounge, Big Kahuna, Spinnaker, Harpoon Harry's, and Club La Vela. No matter where you go in the city you are sure to have a good time. A nice thing about Panama City is that you can basically get into all the clubs and bars also, unlike in Miami or some other big cities. This is a popular destination for college students on spring break as well, so during March it becomes quite crazy.
