The seedy, down-at-the-heels "greeter" starts the Amazing Jonathan experience right at the door.  Sneering look, palm obviously held out for a tip, he leads you into a seedy, down-at-the-heels theatre with a nearly bare state.  Projectors show bits from recent goofy movies, getting the crowd laughing; an off-the-wall act opens the show; then it's time for The Amazing Jonathan himself, doing virtually the same show that many have already seen. Sure, there's bad language, bad taste, extraordinarily bad magic- but the enduring popularity of the show means something is right.
