Reno, like Las Vegas, is a gambler's paradise and known to attract many tourists.  Even though the crime rate in Reno has drastically dropped over the last few years, there are always going to be people looking to make a quick buck, as well as petty thieves and pick pockets.  As in any city it is important to keep an eye on your wallet or bags while you are in a crowded casino or other locations where many people tend to gather.  Use your hotel's safe whenever possible for valuables and do not carry more cash than you need. 

If you do find that you have been robbed inform the security at the hotel or casino you are in as soon as possible.  It is probable that if you were in casino that the crime may have been caught on video tape.
