For authentic Hawaiian food, the Ukelele Grill is a good bet. They have live Island music every night and are reasonably priced. The Five Palms Beach Grill has good seafood and during the whale season, it is sometimes possible to watch the whales from the restaurant while you dine.

Dina's Sand Witch on North Kihei Road has a fun atmosphere and even better sandwiches, and if you're looking for a good burger and milkshake,  try 50's-themed Peggy Sue's on South Kihei Road. The restaurant is kind of small, and it's usually crowded, so it's probably a good idea to get there early.

Harry's Sushi Bar has great Japanese food.  It's a little pricey, but worth it.  Plus, they always have live folk music playing in the background.

Kihei is also home to some fantastic Italian eateries. Sarento’s on the Beach serves traditional Italian entrees as well as original creations by Chef George Gomes, along with an impressive wine list. As the name implies, Sarento’s is located right on the beach and offers incredible views. Bistro Molokini on Wailea Alanui Drive also has great Italian food and great views, and is more reasonably priced. For a more intimate atmosphere, try Antonio’s, which was voted best Italian food in Maui by Maui News readers.
