Amy's Bread is a New York institution.  The Ninth Avenue location is long and narrow and always has a line of customers waiting to get to the counter.  The breads are hearty and interesting and range from simple country loaves to Picholine Olive bread, to Pumpernickel with Currants.  Cakes and cupcakes are a specialty here along with muffins, croissants, and other baked goods.
