The Flying Biscuit is simply the best little eatery in the city. As the name states, the biscuits just about fly off the plate, and you can get breakfast all day long, but what most don’t know about is the amazing menu and great staff this venue offers. The menu has many vegatarian offerings (my favorite is the Egg-ceptional Eggs... two fried eggs on black bean cakes topped with tomatillo salsa and sour cream, with grits or home fries and that famous biscuit), but it also sports entrees such as meatloaf with pudge (mashed potatoes) or pan seared ostirch tenderloin. The ’Biscuit also has a little known wine pairing meal on Fridays that includes 3 courses, each with expertly paired wine, for around $25.00. All of this in a great setting surrounded by boutique shops and the lovely Candler Park neighborhood. It also has a separate bakery for grabbing a coffe or organic juice and a freshly-made muffin. Great opportunity for people watching, window shopping and ecletic dining at a great price.
Another great dining option: Souper Jenny is an adorable little shop in Buckhead serving delicious (and healthy!) soups, sandwiches and salads for lunch Mon - Sat. Limited menu (everything is already made, so call ahead for the daily menu 404-239-9023). $10 will get you a sandwich, soup or salad, roll, fruit, cookie, and drink. The line is usually out the door, but it goes quickly. Pay with cash or check, no credit cards!
Also a little off the beaten path in Atlanta are CNN Studio Tours- pretty fun way to see how the news gets made.
