You can send someone a private message by clicking Send Message underneath a review, below the reviewers' individual ratings. When you click Send Message, a dialog box opens with room for you to compose your private message.

You can also send someone a private message by clicking their screen name, which takes you to their public profile. Click Send Message under their name. If Send Message does not appear under their screen name on their profile page, it means they have disabled the messaging feature and prefer not to communicate with other members.

Important note: When you create a TripAdvisor account, private messaging is automatically turned on.
